The 2016 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo (ITEC’16), held in Adoba Dearborn/Detroit, June 27-29, was a great success. Thanks to ITEC’16 organizing committee’s dedication and countless hours of work as well as ITEC’s strategic and business plan and leadership of IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS), Industry Applications Society (IAS), and Power & Energy Society (PES), ITEC has quickly become the main global technical event for transportation electrification.
The conference featured world-class plenary speakers covering current status and future trends in transportation electrification. With over 60% attendance from the industry, the conference embraced a comprehensive program including 12 keynote presentations, 55 panel presentations, sold-out industry exhibition, 5 Educational short courses, and 4 tutorials offered by internationally renowned industry experts, which was exceptionally attractive to industry, government agencies, and general public, in addition to the academic researchers, students, and educators.
